Whichever of the devices one studies, here mentioned or others, one fact remains obvious . . .Vonnegut accomplished on making Slaughterhouse Five an anti-war novel. Mary O’ Hare should have been happy when she read this novel. It is a brilliant piece of literature, which doesn’t quite make any sense until it is finished and thought about.
