The Prince of the Humanists. A writer, scholar, humanist, and chief interpreter of intellectual currents to northern Europe; this is what Desiderius Erasmus was known for being during the Italian Renisance. He also spoke up for what he believed in. He was a great leader. Since he was such a great leader, he had many followers and still does. These people converted to Roman Catholicism and opposed Lutheranism fiercely. They did this because they believed in Erasmus’s writing so much.
