According to the United States Department of Education, 16 percent of high school students report that they have been threatened with a weapon, and 7 percent report having been injured with a weapon. Also reported was the fact that one out of every five students routinely carries a firearm, knife, or club on them. In addition, several teachers report that they have been verbally abused, physically threatened, or actually attacked by students.
