Isolationism, policy of not interfering with any other country, was America’s attitude toward the international politics, even after World War I. When the European countries declared war on each other, starting World War II, America wanted to stay out of the conflict. But, America was “suddenly and deliberately attacked.. by the Empire of Japan”, leaving it with no other choice than to declare war on Japan. No matter what the reason was for U.

Without rationing there would have been problems with keeping up the supplies and cost U.S some more economic problems. Most of the general population of U.S, followed the rationing rules correctly. Some Americans while under rationing, collectively, tried to collect rubber, scrap metal, rags, paper, and grease to stretch the national supplies. With policies like these, America survived the war on its own, even though it had just been through the Great Depression.
