Violence When you think of East Carolina University what comes to mind, partying, drinking, violence, rape, or maybe drugs. Most students choose ECU because it’s a so-called party school, but when choosing a college does the student think about the many violent and potentially threatening situations that exist on most of our nation’s college campus today. Colleges need to offer alcohol free social and recreational events with DJ’s, and live music, and other options for entertainment on weekends during the hours of 9:00p.m. -2:00a.m. By placing stronger rules on organized parties, by administering drug testing for all students upon admissions, and by paying closer attention to the drinking age, potential problems of rape, binge drinking, and drug abuse would be controlled on all college campuses.
