Title IX

Political Analysis Title IX Twenty-nine years ago congress passed legislation that attempted to level the “playing field” for women in athletics and academics at colleges and universities. In 1972 Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 was introduced, banning sex discrimination in schools, whether it be in academics or athletics. …showed last 75 words of 1339 total…and love sports as much as any one of us coaches. So, as you can see Title IX is, and will always be an ongoing controversial issue. I think it is quite obvious that Title IX is a good thing for academics as well as athletics, but apparently some coaches do not see it that way. I suppose you have to coach a women’s team before you could understand the meaning of this proposal.
