This is characteristic mostly of new constitutions that deliberately try to adopt the generally accepted standards of the Rule of Law and constitutionalism.
The German Basic Law can be considered an example of this effort and philosophy, and for the moment is the only Western constitution examined here that explicitly states the principle of separation of powers. Article 20, section 2 of the Basic Law says:

The Turkish Constitution of 1982 in its Preamble expresses that “Separation of powers does not imply an order of precedence among the organs of the state but reflects a civilised division of labour and mode of cooperation restricted to the exercise of specific state powers, supremacy is vested solely in the Constitution and the laws”. The Turkish regulation is – similar to the constitutions of former socialist countries – a reaction to the former political system.
