The Space Race

Although many factors contribute to the questionable outcome of the Space Race, the United States of America proved to be above the competition. The idea of reaching outer space and even the moon brought many unwanted failures but also many world changing successes in both the United States and the U.S.S.R. The Soviets had many more “firsts” than the Americans but the Americans proved that they could keep up in the race, even after having a late start. The United States proved that they were above the competition. Though there were some lives lost along the way the U.S proved that they could conquer their failures and even their fear by putting the FIRST man on the moon.
