novel has made me learn about the Mexican revolution and Bierce. I really was fascinated with this story because it really felt as if the old gringo were Ambrose Bierce. I keep on wanting to think that this is what truly happened to the American journalist. “Was the old gringo really Ambrose Bierce?” you’re asking. That’s a question one will have to find out for themselves by reading the novel, The Old Gringo.
