the military is an all-volunteer force. It is still made up of an extremely diverse group of individuals, and there are still conflicts within each unit. I believe that Hamburger Hill more accurately depicts the type of personal interaction one can witness in today’s military. The extremely polar relationships between individuals in Platoon may serve to bolster the anti-war or anti-military cause, but it is not a realistic representation of the current military force.
