In The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, Atwood has created an Orwellian society. Atwood uses The Handmaid’s Tale as a warning of what could happen in the future if we are not careful. It would be all to easy for our society to follow in the footsteps of Gilead. Atwood outlines what our society would be like if there was no humanity and no caring. In a world with no freedoms, complete sexual bias and a lack of privacy, there would be no humanity.
