The Diversity of Culture

Having seen the movie Mr. Baseball, I find that the movie aims at delivering the difference between two distinctive cultures; especially how culture influences us unconsciously in our daily lives. In the movie, the baseball player Jack Elliot is a representative of American culture. We can notice that Jack Elliot¡¦s social intercourse includes the features inherited from this kind of culture: self-centeredness and fulfilling an achievement in an enjoyable way. Since there is more than we are conscious of, and it cannot be found and changed until we meet one who is under another take-for-granted-culture influence. In this sense, the only way of understanding culture is we have to be detached from one culture, and embrace the diversity of culture.
