The Crucible The Crucible is a play about witchcraft in Salem, Massachusetts, during the spring of the year 1692. Along with the play is a video in which the play is acted out. Not every thing in the play happened the same way as in the video, although, there were some things that were similar. Not all the events in the play and the movie happened the same, nor were they all different. Several events occurred exactly the same without differing at all, but there were sections of the play or movie that were nothing alike the other. Their just two versions of the same play made up in different ways.
