Once the armada had been defeated only around ½ of the Spanish ships (65/130) made it back to Spain.
And Over 20,000 Spanish Sailors and Soldiers were killed in the battle of the Armada.

The English businessmen took over more and more trade with central and South America.
After the defeat of the Armada a tremendous celebration happened in England. A medal was made (on the right) It said "god blew and they were scattered". Much later, at the end of Elizabeth's reign, as a result of the war against Spain, England's debt reached 3 million £. Offices and crown lands had to be sold to stop going into more debt.
