The plague, also called the “Black Death” started in Europe and the surrounding Mediterranean area throughout the years of 1347 to 1351. This started the cycle of European plague epidemics that continued until the early 18th century. The last major outbreak of the “black death” in Europe was in Marseilles in the year of 1722. The term “Black Death” was not used to refer to the plagues of 1347 through 1351 until much later. Contemporaries usually referred to the plague

one lasting impact that the plague brought upon the whole world. Although one may argue that they whole European middle class were established, and the European governments became what they are today, this only affects the Europeans. However customs affects the whole world, both in good and bad ways. The good being that it keeps the drugs, and other bad things from crossing borders, and the bad being that it invades one’s personal space.
