Suffering is as much a part of life as much as pleasure and having fun is therefore it is only logical that poets should select this theme for their poems. Suffering is omnipresent in our life from when we are young till when we are fully grown adults. It is present many forms some of which are more obvious than others. to his hunger. His family are so poor or they spend so much money on alcohol that the boy has to sleep in a “sack on the kitchen floor”
In these two poems the suffering is very clear and is obviously the theme both poets have selected. The harsh reality of a poor boy’s life and that of a soldier at war can be seen and observed by the reader like an open book.
