Too, the author quoted Mr. Muir and other characters in the book providing an additional lesson of deciphering the translation of the Old Scottish Style of Speech. As stated earlier, I am by no means a qualified source for the recommendation of the attributes of biographies. But if cornered, I may want to suggest a more modern book written for a more casual reader.
