Sibling Relationships

The relationship between siblings is a very important relationship. “The sibling relationship is one of the longest lasting relationships in most people’s lives, and one of the most prevalent”(I). Although this relationship is almost always a friendly one during adulthood, the childhood and adolescent relationship is usually hostile. If the child sees the aggression that his mother feels toward his father, the child will often model the aggression towards their sibling. There are many important factors involved in sibling relationships. I believe that the three discussed above are the most important and that they truly impact the relationship between brothers and sisters.
