The study of adolescent psychology has many different facets that have been debated since the invention of the concept of adolescence back in the early twentieth century. Two of the main contributors to the study of adolescent psychology are Erik Erikson and Jean Piaget. There are many different factors that influence one’s progression through this time of life. Psychologists like Erik Erikson and Jean Piaget have done many studies that are very helpful in better understanding the development process and that gives students a more informed knowledge of how an individual evolves both consciously and unconsciously throughout life.
