Many people are born into poverty, along with a society of ridicule and discrimination, in which people must encounter in order to overcome these struggles and accomplish their goals. In Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin in the Sun,” money plays a large role in the Younger families path to a better future and life. Each character is faced with the issue of money in relation to their dreams. Each learns that they can achieve their dreams as long as they stick to their decision and confront the struggles involved. Mama, Walter Lee, and Beneatha each reached a level of dignity in realizing the relevance on money and its role in life.
