I. INTRODUCTION The date was xxxx, radio stations were saturated with the sounds of bands like Foreigner, the Eagles, and disco acts. The 70s’ megabands were in full force, packing huge arenas with elaborate stage effects. Underground music had taken a back seat, as music took a commercial turn. Interesting enough, the marketability and commercialization of punk rock eventually was it’s own demise, which will be discussed later in this paper.
