Overcoming the Odds

Women are viewed different than men are with regards to their gender roles. Women’s gender roles in a general sense are the homemaker, mother, wife, and sex object. In movies women are often put into roles that are exceptable to women’s rights groups as well as unexceptable. She showed that a woman could overcome all odds and prove to men that they are also capable of doing a man’s job. In the end Lieutenant O ‘ Neal got the respect from all males and the world that a woman is capable of completing even the hardest task designed for men.
