seem that this was not a retelling of the myth but a countinuation of it. The souls of these two people were that of the Greek Orpheus and Eurydice themselves.
So in conclusion what I think the myth is about is the power of love. What that power will make people do. Also the power of art and how it can influence people in they way that they think or they way they view things.
