he created Ophelia. However it is fair to say that Hamlet and Ophelia are an inextricable pair. Despite the haziness of their relationship the reader will forever link the pair together, receiving from the play whatever inferences they have made. Ophelia’s lack of depth as a character, makes her that much more important in the play. She becomes the key to open the door, the first person to jump into the canyon.
