Often times it is found to be true that a film version of a .story is never as good as the original. Such is the case for the story of One’s A Heifer. Sinclair Ross wrote the incredible short story “One’s A Heifer” which was then adapted into a teleplay by director Anne Wheeler. Both people had distinct ideas for how this story should be told, and although they do have some similarities,

between the original and the adaptation easily prove that Ross’ version is far better and more interesting. Also, it shows that Ross’ style of keeping the reader in an active role is considerably more effective then Wheeler’s idea of keeping the reader in a passive role. Once again it is proved that a movie or film version of an original story leaves the audience disappointed and questioning the point of making a second version.
