When using derive in a classroom situation for the studies of the line it’s easy to see that it can be very beneficial for the students. If the students have an error in their work which effects all the answers of the question, correcting it would take a very long time, if it was written (you might even have to redo the whole question). …showed last 75 words of 514 total…with one click you can solve an equation, for example the equation of the line. Once you have the equation you can once again plot it. Derive also gives you options for solving questions, for example for the point of intersection between two lines you can use the solve expression to solve it using simultaneous equations or you can solve it graphically using the trace plots icon thus teaching students a variety of solving methods.
