“The Story of an Hour” keeps the reader on his or her toes throughout the entire story. Because of the short length, the reader continues intensely, anticipating the next event to occur. Ironically Mrs. Mallard was the one to lose her life, which makes the story even more interesting. Each part of the story was chosen carefully to excite and stimulate the reader.
