Jonathan Edwards, “In the Hands of an Angry God”.

“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Jonathan Edwards was a sermon given by the Puritian minister Edwards. In this sermon Edwards uses the fear that God at anytime can punish the wicked to keep his people under control. This was a practice used by the puritians to make the people live correctly under that laws of the Bible and of the church. Even though I don’t agree with Jonathan Edwards and the overall view of the Puritains when it comes to God, his sermon does do what he sets out to do. His point is very clear. Be good, live a good life, because at any moment God may decide your time is up. And most of all you don’t want to anger an already angry God.
