My paper will discuss the views about women in the church presented by Nolan and Johnson. Both see how Jesus empowered women, and I will discuss the points they bring up to support that. These authors share in the idea that women are important in Catholic history.

Both authors see the important role that women played in Jesus’ life. Those who left the church due to its historically male dominated past fail to see the role that women fulfilled. Women’s role in the Catholic history is a significant one, and Jesus’ stance for equality is admirable in his time.
