Alexander Hamilton Alexander Hamilton was born on the West Indian Island of Nevis on January 11,1757, but research now indicates that he was born at least two years earlier in 1755. Maybe the fact that Hamilton was never President has limited the reach of his image in the American consciousness. If so, then maybe we should take in consideration the fame of others who never sat in the White House, including Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison.
