Is Canada a Democratic Dictatorship? Canada is a great country, beautiful in every aspect. The one aspect which can probably use some work is that of government. Canada’s government which has been the same since 1867 has not changed very much. However closer inspection reveals Canada’s government is a democratic dictatorship because of all the power that is concentrated around the Prime Minister. The PM has all the exclusive, unchecked power without the loss of the rights of the people. Why does this system still continue? Where we are satisfied to elect a PM with the appointed powers of a dictator for the duration of his/her term.
