Morals and Society Samuel Clemens tells us in his novel Huckleberry Finn that morality and moral values can be derived from common sense about right and wrong that comes from the conscience. Huck learned that morals could be based upon a common sense mind-set about everyday experience and religion. His experience with everyday attitudes like selfishness, ignorance and bigotry all helped shape his ultimate view of what was right and wrong.
