The movie is historical and romantic and it shows racist views of slavery through the portrayal of the black characters. However, it gives an outstanding view of the South. In my eyes, Gone with the Wind was more historically accurate than it was inaccurate. There may not have been a Scarlett O’Hara or a Rhett Butler, but there was Confederacy, William Sherman, a siege of Atlanta, and a Reconstruction. Watching this movie can teach what Southerners went through during the war, something many people do not know about.
