Grendel

This novel is mainly based on Grendel’s self-destruction; this was most evident in the last five chapters. In the last chapters Grendel destroys himself, he realizes that a persons life is already determined by a higher power and that the things that happen are accidental. Grendel ends up losing faith, he believes that he serves no purpose. Grendel was influenced by others in positive in negative ways but he never realized that changing oneself has to come from within and if you don’t have the heart or the will to do so, then there is no way of defeating it. Grendel was dead long before Beowulf had killed, he was dead inside and there was no way of escaping that.
