In my opinion the characters of this scene struggled with these standards of truth that transcend cultural differences. While they weren’t always attentive, intelligent, reasonable, and responsible I hope that they were both able to leave the situation with a somewhat new perspective on how others think and react in situations. Overall, I felt the scene was able to portray the majority of the norms in both a positive and negative nature.
