in any way possible. The monster’s vision of himself from the knowledge he gained from society is visible when he says, “But it is even so; the fallen angel becomes a malignant devil. Yet even that enemy of God and man had friends and associates in his desolation; I am alone”(213). Truly if knowledge equals society and knowledge can lead to evil, then the monster truly is a “fallen angel” in his own way.
