…showed last 75 words of 730 total…though he wrote many to her plus Poe was becoming extrmemly poor and John Allan refused to send him money or even acknowledge him. Poe became extremely desperate and turned to gambling but his debt got out of hand. John Allan also refused to pay those debts even though it was basically his fault, and wouldn’t let Poe attend the school anymore. His college career was over and so was his relationship with Sarah.
