When we speak of democracy one thing that has become clear is the different notions we have of the idea itself. Perhaps, this conflict comes from our own views of what we would like our perfect democracy to be or reflect. specific things we can point to in an existing democratic system, since every model is founded on the belief that some laws and rights are fundamentally more important than others. How can they adapt new views if each system functions on the old ideals? But more importantly I don’t believe the citizens themselves can adapt to a changed democratic system, since it was that same model that instilled their own democratic needs and views.
