Rome wasn't built in a day, it took hundreds of years to expand it's empire. Rome's success was due to the fact of the character of it's people and the quality of their statesmanship (pg. 125). It is true that their were other causes that weren't internal, the fact that their were no empires left to conquer, it's vast empire was to big to control with the technology that was at hand. But I felt that the major reason were internal, that internally Rome began to rot away. With this weakness present people's attitude, loyalty, patriotism, and respect also rotted away. The Rome Empire fell apart, from the inside out.
