In the book, Lord of the Flies, the author frequently uses symbolism.
Symbolism is the representation of things by use of symbols especially by investing
things with a symbolic meaning or by expressing the invisible by means of visible or
sensuous representations. I inturpret that as it discussing or explaining a broader,
more general topic by linking it symbolically with a specific event in a literary work.

born with a natural sense of
beingviolent or is it outside influence, nature vs. society. That is a main issue that
is over looked but I concentrated mainly on the use of symbolism, we can see that
the breaking of Piggy’s glasses, Simon’s conversation with the Lord of the Flies, and
the representation of the littluns and Jack as the "people" and the government,
mean much more than what they appear to be.
