Compare and Contrast ‘A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning’ by John Donne and ‘To His Coy Mistress’ by Andrew Marvell
The contrast between ‘A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning’ and ‘To His Coy Mistress’ are quite similar.
The structure of the poem is very similar because they both rhyme but Donne’s poem have different stanzas. Marvells is one long poem with three sections to it. Their rhyme scheme is different. Donne’s is A, B, A, B. Whereas

real life– death is imperative, but trivialities can often make it seem distant. However, it will greet us all.
Donne also likes to use challenging words such as ‘Compasses’, meaning a pair of legs. But Marvell, however, keeps his poetry basic as well as understanding.
My conclusion is that these two poets have very different ideas and it is very hard to compare or contrast them because every poet has there own style and theme.
