she gets better, Celie looks for a “real” person to write towards. Since Celie is expressing more now, she looks for someone she knows exists, being Nettie. Nettie still has a powerful role in Celie’s life as God did, because Celie looked up to her little sister Nettie and with her gradual improvement she learns to find trust in Nettie. This is why Celie decides to address her letters differently, from God to Nettie.
