A lot if family run businesses were opening like laundries and restaurants, they popped up in small towns and Chinatown was created across Canada. Chinatown was a good thing for Chinese people it allow people to operate and also work. There was discriminatory laws encouraged Chinese enterprises in Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia for example they were not allow to hire white females.
