Capital Punishment, by definition, is the execution of a person found guilty of murder. Average citizens are now becoming more aware that capital punishment, if correctly implemented, could be a solution to many of today’s most pressing criminal problems. Not only is capital punishment deterrence to crime; it is our moral responsibility to assure that murderers will not murder again. It works as deterrence to crime, as well as fulfilling our moral obligations to punish one for their sin. “The difference between murder and execution, or between kidnapping and imprisonment, is that the first is unlawful and undeserved, and the second a lawful and deserved punishment for an unlawful act.” (Bator) In essence, we are choosing between killing a bunch of murderers, or allowing for the same fate of innocent victims. What a tough call!
