Antonio is the son of a man who is used to a nomadic like lifestyle and his mother is accustomed to the life of living on a farm. With these beliefs he is afraid of losing his innocence and thru a fairly portioned part of the book this is a topic. His idea of God or gods is an important topic throughout the novel that causes many events in the book.
