Beowulf, The European Idol
In the epic poem, Beowulf, written during the Anglo- Saxon period, the main character undergoes many battles in order to become more infamous. He fights three main demons, Grendel, Grendel’s Mom, and the Dragon. In the end of the poem, the dragon kills Beowulf. This contributes to his fame in many ways. In conclusion, Beowulf’s death mad him more a hero in the eyes of the Geats. His death lets the common man relate to him. It causes his heroic traits revealed, and it inspired his culture not to give up. Beowulf was a hero, but his death mad him a true hero to be remembered.
