Beloved

In the novel Beloved, written by Toni Morrison and in “Looking for Zora” by Alice Walker, both of the communities in the stories had many similarities. In Toni Morrison’s novel, the main character is Sethe, an ex-slave who lives with her daughter, Denver and boyfriend Paul D. in a small town. …showed last 75 words of 1153 total…in the German community. We get together often and get German food. My father makes bratwurst, and soups and of course, they drink a lot of German beer. My family celebrates Oktoberfest every year. Since I have such a strong connection with my past, and my ethnic origin, I can relate to the feelings of Sethe and Zora. They were both very proud of their African-American roots, as I am proud of my German heritage
