the symbolism, diction, and syntax that Faulkner uses to express Darl’s thoughts and feelings towards the external world. Faulkner’s incredible use of techniques to show this is what makes him a great writer. I never knew that a simple chapter could be turned in a passage filled with themes, symbolism, love, hatred, corruptness, and sanity. Furthermore, I also realized that the world is not purely sane or insane but a combination of both.
