Major Essay “Animal Farm”
By: The Man
Animal Farm by George Orwell served as an allegory for the Russian Revolution of 1917. “Manor Farm” (which is later re-named “Animal Farm”) represented Russia during the Russian Revolution. The surrounding farms in the novel can be compared to countries surrounding Russia. In this novel the animals are trying to overthrow the humans after years of being mistreated. The animals, led by the pigs, decide to start a revolution.

tried to make rules to fit his own needs, he even changed the 7 Commandments to one commandment, which was, “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” What he meant was that pigs were high above all the other animals. In turn I strongly believe that Orwell supported the Revolution. I say this because had he not supported the Revolution, he would not have written a novel that depicted a Revolution.
