Animal Cruelty

The big question is "Do animals deserve the same rights as humans do?" One would think not because they are the inferior beings on this planet. Some people think differently though. They say that since they are living creatures they should have the same rights. One example of animals being mistreated is dog and chicken fights. These have already been made illegal in many places. Animal abuse is not the only subject being questioned when it comes to animal rights. After hurricane Katrina thousand had to say goodbye to their beloved pets because the buses would not allow animals onboard during evacuation. Should animals be treated so much lower than humans that they do not deserve to be rescued?
